Jealous Betty – Betrayed and Humiliated

Poor Betty Chew aka Mrs Lim Guan Eng. She has never looked more distraught, hurt and confused than on Monday when confronted with questions about Ng Phaik Kheng aka Rainbow. Rainbow is of course the sweet and shapely lady whom Guan Eng is rumoured to have had a hot fling with.

She simply did not know how to react to the question shooting across from the other side at the Malacca Legislative Assembly. It was a simple question. YB Gan asked Betty if she knew this girl whose picture was plastered all over cyberspace.

It is shocking but true. Even people in Malacca are talking about Guan Eng and Rainbow, his former special officer, who had to quit suddenly last year. The news of the love affair had spread south. Besides people in Malacca love news of sex and politicians, remember Rahim Thamby Chik?

They want to know about the pictures of his plastered forehead widely circulated on the Internet. Was it because jealous Betty had flung an ashtray at him? Some said it was an office file that she threw at him. Hopefully it was not a file of an application over hilltop development which is raging in Penang.

People in Malacca are asking: If it is not true, why didn’t Betty deny straight away? Why didn’t she defend her hubby? Why didn’t she say that she believes in her husband and that there was no such love affair?

Her face turned white, then red, then white as she struggled to answer. Her fellow DAP assemblymen jumped to her defence. And what was their defence? They asked YB Gan, who is from MCA, about Chua Soi Lek’s affair. People talking A, they talking B.

Ya la, that Soi Lek fella had an affair, it was also all over cyberspace especially in the pro-Pakatan Malaysiakini. But he already said: It was me. He didn’t sit there like Betty, spluttering and turning red and white and speechless. Nor did he try to shut up reporters like Guan Eng.

You write, I sue! You print, you see what I will do to you! He didn’t bullshit like Anwar, who kept, saying it wasn’t me or like Ice Cream Azmin Ali, who can simply condemned the pictures as “gutter politics.”

Betty was very angry. Angry with YB Gan and with her husband for putting her through such public humiliation.

The next day, she and her DAP assemblymen staged a walkout. But we are very sure that the other DAP assemblymen were secretly rejoicing over what was happening. While their legs walked, their hearts were singing: Yeh, yeh, padan muka Guan Eng! Yeh, yeh, jatuhkan Ugly Betty!

Everyone knows that the DAP fellas in Malacca dislike Guan Eng and Betty. They are a very action couple and were so hated that they were once voted out of the DAP leadership in Malacca. It was big loss of face for the power couple. It didn’t matter that he was the sec-gen of DAP, they wanted him out.

They do not dislike him any less even though he is Penang CM and they also cannot tahan his wife. She is a YB in Malacca but spend all her time in Penang, parading in nice clothes and nice hairdo beside her big shot hubby and leaving them to do the work in Malacca.

She is what is known as an absentee YB. She is YB in name only. Gaji buta YB. If it was a BN fella who was doing this, she would have been criticised and shamed in Malaysiakini.

But because she is Mrs Lim Guan Eng, Malaysiakini see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. Bodoh website. So one sided, everyday Scorpene, Altantuya, Lynas, blah, blah, blah.

Poor jealous Betty. Where to put your face la? Better you retire and give your seat to someone more worthy, who lives in Malacca and can really serve the people.

You are staying in Penang so that you can keep an eye on hubby. Maybe you should install CCTV in his office? Better put one in the toilet also.

Duyong assemblyman Datuk Gan Tian Loo says many want the question answered

Datuk Gan Tian Loo (BN-Duyong) said many people had urged him to ask Chew this question following numerous blogs and postings on the Internet showing Lim with a plaster on his forehead.
"When Lim was asked on this (the injury on his forehead), he is alleged to have said that if anyone speaks or writes about it, he would be sued.
"Is this being transparent? Where is the freedom to speak out in this matter?
"I have photographs and it has sparked the curiosity of many. And I want to ask the Kota Laksamana representative if she had hit the (Penang) chief minister... This you have to reply," he said in his winding-up speech on a motion which he had tabled in the house condemning the Bersih 3.0 rally on April 28.
At this point, Khoo Poay Tiong (DAP-Ayer Keroh) challenged Gan to repeat what he had said outside the state assembly. This then led to a fierce exchange of words between representatives from both sides of the divide.
However, state assembly Speaker Datuk Othman Muhamad brought order back in the house and Gan continued with his speech.
Gan added that there were many people from Kota Laksamana and in the state, including the other DAP representatives in the house, who were also interested to know who Ng Phaik Kheng is.
"Does the Kota Laksamana assemblyman know Ng? There are many allegations on blogs and Internet postings claiming that the Kota Laksamana assemblyman has harassed her or sepak (kick) her and did other things. This you have to answer.
"It is also said that Ng was formerly working at the Penang Chief Minister's Department, but has now been transferred to the Penang World Heritage Office. Is this true?
"I also want to ask you further if you know Ng, who is also known as Chai Hong," Gan asked Chew, prompting the Kota Laksamana assemblyman to stand up.
Chew said she did not want to make any statement in the house (on the matter raised).
"If he (Gan) wants to know, then ask him to repeat the questions outside the house and let it be reported by the television stations and newspapers. Only then will I give my reply," she said.
Gan then stood and said that as an elected representative, Chew had to reply to his questions in the house.
"As an elected representative, one has to be accountable, transparent and democratic. You (Chew) have to reply."
Later, when met outside the house, Chew declined comment.
