Papagomo said the Opposition’s action of playing up the issue of the controversial blogger being included among the participants who were invited to go on the Scorpene submarine test ride proves that they are afraid of the role he plays as a pro-Umno blogger.
altThe blogger, who refused to give his real name for safety reasons, claimed that the opposition has no basis to attack him because they have to understand that the incident took place during the LIMA 2011 is an event that is open to the public.
“They (opposition) should understand that LIMA 2011 is an exhibition. It means that anyone who came can see and take pictures. Even tourists also came and took pictures because it is an exhibition,” said Papagomo (left) when met by Malaysian Digest today.
“They have no reason to attack me because it is an exhibition,” he added.
He said together with him during the free submarine ride were journalists from TV3 and Bernama.
“Although we were in the submarine, we are not exposed to other things. We were only exposed to the basic things, that's all,” he said.
“So when the opposition questioned why I as a blogger was allowed to board the submarine, it means they are stupid,” he added.
Papagomo also added that his attendance that day on the submarine was as a representative of the new media.
“They are using their own new media to attack the government. So we (pro-Umnos) counter their attacks using new media. I am representing the new media on that day to counter all their attacks on the issue of submarines,” he said.
“If they claimed that my presence could cause problems to the nation, they should realize that the opposition themselves are the one who always smear Malaysia’s good name when they go overseas,” he added.
“What can I infer from their actions of attacking me is they are actually afraid of the truth. Penang chief minister, Lim Guan Eng in fact is worried that I would take a picture of him in his excitement while in the submarine,” he added.
Papagomo told Malaysian Digest that he can still remember very well how excited Lim was when he entered the submarine.
“I can still remember the pride in his face as he entered the submarine. But when he got out, he told negative stories about the submarine. The fact is, he was actually excited about it,” said Papagomo.
Papagomo has previously been the subject of attacks by several opposition leaders for allegedly threatening the country's military security.
